Watch out London. Priscilla Queen of the Desert the musical is coming to the UK and former heart throb Jason Donovan will be donning drag make-up each night to play the lead role of Tick, made famous by Hugo Weaving in the movie version.
Donovan will star alongside fellow Australian actor Tony Sheldon as Bernadette, with Oliver Thornton in the role of Adam.
“Jason, I think he was an early kind a possibility for us,” producer Garry McQuinn said. “He knew the show well and when we got him up on stage he didn’t frock up too bad at all. It wasn’t a hard choice to make.”
Priscilla the musical has taken more than $90million since it opened in Sydney. The show is due to open at London’s Palace Theatre in March.
Jason is the second neighbors actor to have stared in Priscilla, the first was Guy Pearce and wasn't he the sexiest, I still remember him standing on the rock in drag.(Nice ASS!)
