Actor Brad Pitt will donate US$100,000 to help defeat the proposed ban on gay marriage in California that will go to a statewide vote in less than seven weeks.
And just when we thought this guy couldn't get any better!
Pitt explained his reason for wanting to defeat the proposal in a statement saying, "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."
Pitt's large donation makes him the biggest celebrity name and most generous so far to make a contribution to the fight against the ban.
Californians will vote on the day of the presidential election as to whether they want to ban gay marriage after it was made legal in a May court ruling.
