AUSTRALIA. Sydney
On Saturday night Sydney's gay strip Oxford St once again came alive with almost 10,000 participants including myself, my partner and two of my closest friends marching in the 33rd GLBT Parade.
Transsexual identity Amanda Lepore was the parade chief, leading 135 floats in a History of the World-themed cavalcade.
It was the most amazing experience, one just has to march to feel the natural rush with over 300,000 spectators lining the 2.4km parade route.
This year for the first time the parade finished at the Entertainment Quarter (Fox Studios) where a Carnival party was awaiting.
The day started with a beautiful blue sky and finished with a full moon and clear night.
The dikes on bikes traditionally always start the parade and get the crowd screaming as they rev their bikes and thunder up the street.
Australia is known for it's beautiful bronzed Aussie life savers and yet again they did us proud!
Prior to the parade commencing I was able to run around and take a few photo's of the preparations, these are a few I have selected.
Its rehearsal time!
THE HAIRY END!
