Ricky Martin confirms what we all knew!

 

RICKY Martin has confirmed rumours that he is gay, announcing on his website today that he is a "fortunate homosexual man" who is "very blessed to be who I am."

Though speculation raged for years about the 38-year-old Latino singer’s flamboyant dance moves - always performed with beautiful female partners - Martin said he decided to come out to the world after beginning his memoirs and realising his sexual orientation was “something worth celebrating”.

On his website today he wrote;

"Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment,” he wrote.

“These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.” 

"I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.

Wales rugby legend Gareth Thomas in 'absolute despair' over gay admission

WALES rugby union legend Gareth Thomas has announced that he is gay in an interview in Saturday's Daily Mail newspaper.

The Cardiff Blues full-back, 35, said he had been through “absolute despair” and did not want to be known simply as a “gay rugby player”.

The former Wales and British and Irish Lions captain is Wales' most capped player and ninth in the all-time Test try scoring list.

“I've been through all sorts of emotions with this, tears, anger and absolute despair,” he said.

“I wasn't sure if I ever wanted to let people know and, to be honest, I feel anxious about people's reactions and the effect it might have on my family.”

He added: “I don't want to be known as a gay rugby player. I am a rugby player first and foremost.

“I am a man. I just happen to be gay. It's irrelevant. What I choose to do when I close the door at home has nothing to do with what I have achieved in rugby.”

The gay Austrian fashionista stopped traffic and caused mob scenes in Sydney's CBD, dressed as a knight in shining armor leading a white horse dressed in bondage gear.

 

"Vassup Sydney! Do you like my helmet?" he asked the hundreds of screaming fans who packed into Market Street.

Bruno, played by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, has spruiked his movie in seven countries over the past 18 days - "more than any Austrian since 1941".

Sydney was the last stop on his world tour, and he was going out with a party.

"Ich really hope my movie realises its full global potential and doesn't peter out after a promising start like swine flu," said Bruno, posing with silver-painted models in red bikinis.

"Let's hope, like herpes, this film continues to infect audiences for the next 1000 years."

Bruno added that of all the places he'd visited "Sydney is the best", but there was no sign of the man who had won his heart on his trip Down Under: Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

At a press conference on Monday morning, he raved about the man he called Ruddy.

"The reason I'm late is I just had breakfast in bed with Kevin Rudd. That guy is like, uber cute," Bruno said.

"I thought Obama was like the hottest guy in the world until I met Kevin.

"I did to him last night what Malcolm Turnbull has been trying to do to him for the last couple of weeks."

"I want to be the gay stereotype, I want to be the gay role model," he said.

"My first words to my mother were: 'I'm gay, get over it'."

He was also keen to discuss his "fashion philosophy".

"Fashion can solve most of the world's problems," Bruno said.

"Israel and Palestine, the whole of the middle earth, the fact is not one suicide bomber has even blown themselves up while wearing Marc Jacobs. That's a fact.

"If you go the middle earth you see when those guys open their wardrobe all they've got is like a black smock and sandals. I'd blow myself up too."

Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Just weeks before performing 50 shows in London Michael has died, possibly from taking too many prescription drugs to get him in shape for the grueling number of shows he had planned. He had completed a rehearsal the night before his death.

I like millions of fortunate people grew up listening to his music and watching Michael perform and in his music clips, the most memorable to me was Thriller, I still remember watching the full length video clip when it was launched world wide..... he has left me with so many memories !

Thorpe wonders: 'How many times?

Last week, tabloids "unmasked Ian Thorpe's mystery male friend" with a fair dose of nudge, nudge and wink, wink. On Thursday Thorpie went on the offensive and issued a statement completely rubbishing the claims he was gay. The tabloids were duly admonished.

Apparently the "proof" that Thorpe's Brazilian flatmate, Daniel Mendes, was more than a roomie was in a series of photos of the pair in the surf.

Dripping with innuendo and speculation, the reports were the sort of thing Hollywood gossip scribes of the 1950s thrived on when hunting down gays.

But Thorpe's friends had long insisted the relationship was nothing more than a "bromance" between the pair. In the old days we simply called them mates.

As Thorpe stated on Thursday: "I find this kind of inaccurate speculation tiresome and I am annoyed by the hurt it has caused those closest to me. I look forward to myself and those around me receiving the respect and privacy afforded others."

Thorpe has publicly denied rumours he is gay several times, which raised a potentially more serious question regarding the media coverage - was he now being called a liar?

Thorpe's management was well aware of the defamatory implications when PS called, but were resisting the urge to call in lawyers.

Last July those same tabloids reported Thorpe was dating a girl, quoting him saying: "She lives on the other side of the world. It's very cool but we want to see how it goes."

David Flaskas, the head of Grand Slam International, has long managed Thorpe's affairs. Last year Flaskas took on the Beijing gold medal-winning and openly gay diver, Matthew Mitcham. Flaskas told PS he did not believe Mitcham's sexuality would hinder his earnings potential.

PS first met Mendes at the Australia's Next Top Model finale nearly three years ago and he was introduced as Thorpe's friend. They have been photographed at several events since. Strangely, none of those photos sparked the same media frenzy as the one which engulfed Thorpe this week and caused so much pain.

Champion athlete Beard has flatly denied that she and Thorpe were once lovers.

"It's baloney," her agent Evan Morganstein told The Daily Telegraph.

As speculation swirls around Mr Thorpe's friendship with his Brazilian flatmate Daniel Mendes, Beard was adamant that she and Thorpe were never an item.

Ellen DeGeneres “Saddened Beyond Belief” Over Proposition 8

Elen DeGeneres says that she was “saddened beyond belief” when she learned that Proposition 8 had passed in California. Proposition 8 will ban same-sex marriages in the state and call in to question the legitimacy of nearly 16,000 gay and lesbian marriages—including DeGeneres’ marriage to longtime girlfriend Portia de Rossi. The proposition was passed by just over 52 percent.

“This morning, when it was clear that Proposition 8 had passed in California, I can’t explain the feeling I had. I was saddened beyond belief,” DeGeneres said in a message posted on her Web site. “Here we just had a giant step toward equality [with the election of Barack Obama] and then on the very next day, we took a giant step away.”

The proposition specifies that only marriages between a man and a woman will be recognized and it will rewrite the states constitution with those stipulations. Attorney Matthew D. Staver says that he believes California’s same-sex marriages will be annulled. “Constitutional amendments are retroactive,” he told People magazine.

Proposition 8 drew opposition from many other celebrities including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Steven Spielberg and Lindsay Lohan.

Beckham - Proud To Be A 'Gay Icon'

In a recent interview with GQ magazine in the UK David Beckham spoke about being labelled both the “gayest straight man in Britain”. Beckham said that he likes it.

“When someone said that about me, it made me laugh and I was quite proud of it. To have that kind of effect on so many different people around the world, I was honoured. When people talk to me about being a gay icon I think of it as a great honour.”

While he may be the object of many gay men’s affections, we’re not quite sure if he qualifies as an icon.

He also defended his ‘metrosexual’ image, saying: “I’ve always been into clothes and fashion. It wasn’t a vain thing, it’s just that I love looking smart. I don’t do things for people to latch on to. If I see something I like I wear it, no matter what I think people are going to say about me. I don’t do it for a statement.”

Former Gay Porn Star Jordan Young Named Top Hollywood Exec

Entertainment Giant Fremantle Media North America, producers of hit shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Price is Right, last week named former gay adult film star Billy Kemp as the company’s new Vice-President of Casting and Talent.

Working under the name Jordan Young, Kemp starred in and wrote a string of hit gay porn titles in the '90s and was at one time even the roommate of legendary gay porn director and producer, Chi Chi La Rue.

Though Kemp has made a name for himself in mainstream television over the last decade working as a casting executive on shows like Temptation Island and Elimidate, his introduction to Hollywood came via the world of gay adult film, where he quickly became one of the most popular Asian performers in the history of the business starring in titles like Lost In Vegas, The Freshmen and Idol In The Sky to name a few.

Not just a performer, Kemp also wrote a number of films with his porn mentor La Rue that became quite successful and he was even nominated for a 2003 Grabby Erotic Gay Video Award for Best Screenplay in respect of his work on Falcon Studios’ Deep South: The Big and the Easy.

In a 1997 interview with HX Magazine, Kemp who has in the past been linked romantically to some of the hottest names in gay porn, like Logan Reed, Sam Dixon and Tom Katt, foreshadowed his planned move beyond gay adult film and into mainstream media.

“I’d like to ‘go legit,’” he told the magazine at the time. “Although I don't consider what I’m doing not legit. I don't deny it. I’m comfortable with it. It’s a form of media that’s out there; it’s just not as widely accepted.”

It’s a big week for Charlie Herschel. Forty-eight hours before his big debut on the 17th season of Survivor, the 29-year-old New York–based corporate lawyer is finding out with the rest of the world that his online chat buddy of two years, American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken, has announced on the cover of People that he’s gay.

The two started chatting on social networking site Connexion.org during the whole Kelly Ripa hand-over-the-mouth hubbub, and those early chat fests developed into a casual friendship while Aiken was in New York starring in Broadway’s Spamalot.
